This hue is inspired by the iconic NASA launch and entry suits worn during the Space Shuttle era, officially known as the LES (Launch Entry Suit, 1988–1994) and ACES (Advanced Crew Escape Suit, 1994–2011). The suit’s vivid color, International Orange, is a high-visibility standard widely used in aerospace and engineering, adopted by NASA to enhance visibility during ocean rescues. Nicknamed the “pumpkin suit,” it became a visual symbol of human spaceflight throughout the Shuttle era. While today’s missions feature more streamlined designs, this bold orange remains one of the most recognizable colors in space exploration.
